Fabric cladding

Facades made of fabric

Fabric facades have no borders. It can be used to create buildings of different shapes, whether round, square or even oval – the opportunity for artistic expression and design freedom.

Should the design or communication requirements of the building change over time, the fabric can be quickly and economically replaced. The profile technology remains the same on the façade, just by replacing the fabric.

Fabric façades have been installed in airports, sports facilities and increasingly in commercial and office buildings.

Facade fabrics have been used in Europe since time immemorial, with the importance of facade fabrics playing a role in protecting against direct sunlight and UV rays. Fabric façades have been installed in airports, sports facilities and, increasingly, commercial and office buildings.

Facades made of fabric have many advantages. You can give a building a unified look without worrying about being blocked from the windows – you can look out from the inside without worrying about being seen in from the outside.

What does the Facade Fabric look like?

Facades made of fabric have many advantages. You can give the building a uniform look without fear of being blocked by the windows (you can see out from the inside), while at the same time not having to worry about being blocked from the outside.

The fabric significantly reduces the need for cooling in hot weather and thus energy consumption. The fabric is easy to renew and can give old buildings a completely new look easily and at a reasonable price. In an urban environment, the façade fabric helps to absorb excessive noise.

The fabrics used for façades must be particularly resistant to weather and wind loads. We offer fabrics that are breathable, UV-protected, fire retardant and easy to maintain.

A big and often decisive advantage is the fabrics that can be printed on. Colours used in digital printing are long-lasting and maintenance-free, giving architects and clients creative freedom.

We offer a fabric that is breathable, UV-protected, fire retardant and easy to maintain!

A robust frame system and fasteners are needed to properly secure the fabric. In Estonia, we represent FACID, a world-renowned manufacturer of fabric profile systems and a subsidiary brand of the major German manufacturer Schüco.

Inconspicuous leakage

The profiling system leaves only a barely noticeable 20mm gap between the pieces of fabric, which is easily retightened. The lining profiles can be painted to match the fabric so they are not visible from a distance.

Easy installation

With the Facid system, there is no need for a special double steel structure. This cost often goes unnoticed by customers because the work is carried out separately by metal companies. The system can also be installed on a classic aluminium profile system, if fabric sizes and wind loads allow. Very large pieces of fabric can be installed – even up to 50 m long and 8 m wide.

Fixing profiles

Facid, in collaboration with Serge Ferrar, has developed a fabric fixing system for outdoor façades that eliminates the need for expensive annual maintenance.

Maintenance

The factory will provide a 10-year warranty on the performance of the system if installed according to these instructions.

Should the design or communication requirements of the building change over time, the fabric can be quickly and economically replaced. The profile technology remains the same on the façade, just by replacing the fabric.

FACID is a patented fabric fastening system that has been used for many years to create fabric facades all over the world.
